Bitsy Buys Abandoned Land on the Mainland

Reading the SL Wiki

(This is the web version of a notecard that was at "Gateway to the Mainland" in Second Life where I had put together resources about buying land. "Gateway" is now being moved.

Bitsy realizes she has a problem with her land in Celchu. Because of its shape there  is not enough room to put a large structure. She needs more room, so decides to find out if she can buy some of the abandoned land behind her parcel.

The green shows the parcel shape.

Bitsy watches some "How to Buy Abandoned Land" videos on YouTube, such as:

How to Buy Abandoned Land

She also reads the SL Wiki article: https://community.secondlife.com/knowledgebase/english/abandoned-land-r1034/

Bitsy follows the link on the Wiki article and submits a support request. She follows the instructions. She explains why she needs additional land, and includes a snapshot showing the area she is interested in.

Photo submitted showing rough area she wants to buy.

A few days later she sees that the land has been set to sale for her.

The parcel outlines are much neater now.

Pencil lines added to show new parcel boundaries. Note that small building in the first photo has been replaced with a gazebo in the second photo.

(Thank you, Whitney Linden, for setting up the new parcel!)

Bitsy buys the parcel. Her tier has now gone up to 13$L per month, since she has a Premium home and two 1024 parcels; however, she is hoping to start a group and share tier cost.

Note: The gadget shown on the poster cannot be used to buy land, it is just a freebie with one texture face changed to a media prim showing the SL Wiki page on abandoned land. (To do this edit object/Select face/Under texture tab under "full bright" change the 'materials' to 'Media' /then select 'Choose' and put in the URL.  Thanks to Professor Myrddin for explaining this.)
