The Children of Stories in Fantasy Faire 2023 in Second Life

After going through an enchanted door to a magic forest, I found a Big Fuzzlelot lazing under a tree.
Later, as part of the story, the Children got him to his feet so he could help in the battle against the Unweaver.

The Children of Stories have a long history of role playing at Fantasy Faires. "The Children" gathered again this year to continue their fight against the Darkness by raising funds to help support The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

I've watched many of the Children of Stories events over the years. Last year I bought a Sniffer Mole outfit and did my own private role play in the Hunros Mines after the story was over. This year I watched several of the live action performances.

The Faire also offered roleplaying classes. I went to one, and Strifeclaw spoke so eloquently about the benefits of supporting Relay for Life I went and withdrew more Lindens so that I could contribute.

This year I was delighted to find a store at the Faire that had copies of all the different garb worn by the Children over the years. The sign was a teleport to a location where you could buy this year's outfit.

This year I bought a Mouse Guardian costume.

The costume included shields and swords,
warpaint, ears and a tail, and
a variety of gestures.

Sunday, April 30th, was the finale of this year's story. As contributions came in, the evil was gradually overcome.

The start of the final battle.

Loki has made an excellent video showing the rest of the cauldron battle.

Here is the synopsis of the story this year.
