How to Get Ready for Fantasy Faire in Second Life

This year Fantasy Faire lasts from April 20th to May 7th. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of it.

The Faire covers 20 Regions, so there's a lot of area to cover. There is so much to do, and see, and buy, that it can be overwhelming. To make the most of your time, prepare yourself by checking the programs to see what events you want to attend and then put them on your calendar.

It is always a good idea to get to an event ahead of time. If the Region is full, you may be able to cam in.

Try to pace yourself.

The Fantasy Faire website has excellent information on all things Fantasy Faire. Read it. Also check out the Official Bloggers' posts.

You can usually get a Navigation Hud at Fairelands Junction, but when exploring I have found that finding paths between Regions can be more interesting than always teleporting. Also, setting your viewer to "Shared Environment" lets you see each Region the way it was designed to be viewed*.

Take pictures! The above photo was taken with the Second Life camera.

If you decide to participate in the Fairelands Quest, don't be afraid to ask for help if you find yourself stumped.

Don't spend all your Lindens the first day! You can see a sample of what is for sale on Fantasy Faire's Facebook page.  The Shopping Pages make it easier to find specific stores or products.

Don't forget that Fantasy Faire's purpose is to raise money for Relay for Life. There are other events throughout the year.
